IFS- Internal Family Systems Therapy

$0.00

IFS is a trauma-informed therapy approach that helps individuals understand and harmonize the different “parts” of themselves. Everyone has multiple internal parts — for example, protective parts that try to shield us from pain, critical parts that judge us, or vulnerable parts that hold past trauma. IFS helps clients identify, understand, and heal these parts, promoting self-compassion and emotional balance.

Process and Practices:

  1. Identifying Parts – The therapist guides the client to recognize different parts of themselves, often through guided reflection or dialogue.

  2. Getting to Know Parts – Clients explore the thoughts, emotions, and roles of each part, understanding why it behaves the way it does.

  3. Self-Leadership – Clients learn to access their core “Self,” which is calm, compassionate, and curious, to lead internal parts rather than be controlled by them.

  4. Unburdening – Vulnerable or traumatized parts are gently helped to release painful emotions or beliefs they’ve been carrying.

  5. Integration & Harmonization – Clients work toward internal cooperation, with all parts feeling seen, understood, and respected, leading to emotional healing and improved decision-making.
